Persepsi negatif ke arah kejayaan
Kita tak boleh meransang diri kita menjadi orang berjaya jika di minda kita sendiri kita selalu berpersepsi negatif. Persepsi negatif adalah sangkaan-sangkaan buruk yang cepat timbul. Ia adalah gambaran buruk yang cepat timbul di layar minda.
Persepsi adalah respon kita tatkala mendengar sesuatu, terlihat sesuatu atau terbaca sesuatu perkataan. Bila persepsi kita negatif, kita susah nak jadi orang berjaya sebab persepsi negatif tu akan membuahkan tanggapan negatif.
Tanggapan negatif membuahkan tindakan negatif, bukan tindakan positif. Akibatnya kita tidak dapat mencapai apa-apa kecemerlangan, tapi asyik terceruk di dalam kenegatifan sebab tindakan kita semuanya negatif.
Orang berfikiran negatif tak akan dapat mencapai apa-apa. Orang berfikiran positif akan dapat mencapai apa-apa pencapaian yang dimahukan olehnya. Di mana ada kemahuan membara, di situ ada lebuh raya, bukan sekadar sebatang jalan raya

SATU MUHASABAH : Kenapa Yahudi Bijak

Setelah berada 3 tahun di Israel kerana menjalani housemanship dibeberapa hospital disana, ada beberapa perkara yang menarik dapat saya perhatikan untuk dijadikan tesis ini, iaitu "Mengapa Yahudi Bijak?". Memang tidak dapat dinafikan ramai cendikiawan berbangsa Yahudi, dari segala bidang, Engineering, musik, saintis dan yang paling hebat ialah bidang perniagaan, dimana ia memang paling tersohor. Hampir 70% perniagaan di dunia dikuasai oleh kaum Yahudi, dari kosmetik, pakaian, pemakanan, senjata, perhotelan, perfileman di Hollywood dan sebagainya.
Ketika tahun kedua, akhir bulan December 1980 dan sedang saya menghitung hari untuk pulang ke California saya terfikir apakah sebabnya kaum Yahudi begitu pintar? Kenapa tuhan memberi kelebihan kepada mereka? Apakah ini suatu kebetulan? Atau olah manusia sendiri? Adakah bijak boleh dijana? Seperti kilang pengeluaran? Maka saya pon tergerak membuat tesis untuk Phd saya, disamping kebaikan untuk umat sejagat dan dapat hidup secara harmoni. Untuk pengetahuan anda tesis yang saya lakukan ini mengambil masa hampir lapan tahun, ini kerana untuk mengumpulkan data-data yang setepat mungkin. Antara data-data yang saya kumpulkan ialah pemakanan, adat resam, ugama, persiapan awal untuk melahirkan zuriat dan sebagainya dan data data tadi saya cuba bandingkan dengan bangsa dan kaum kaum lain.
Marilah kita mulakan dengan persiapan awal melahirkan zuriat. Di Israel, setelah mengetahui yang sang ibu sedang mengandung, pertama kali saya perhatikan ialah, sang ibu akan sering menyanyi dan bermain piano dan si ibu dan bapa akan membeli buku metamatik dan menyelesaikan masalah metamatik bersama suami, saya sungguh hairan kerana teman saya yang mengandung sering membawa buku metamatik dan bertanya kepada saya beberapa soalan yang beliau tak dapat menyelesaikanya, oleh kerana saya memang minat tentang metamatik, tentu saja dengan senang saya bantu beliau. Saya bertanya kepada beliau, adakah ini untuk anak kamu? Beliau menjawab, "ia, ini untuk anak saya yang masih didalam kandungan, saya sedang melatih otak beliau, semuga ia menjadi genius apabila dewasa kelak" Perkara ini membuat saya tertarik untuk mengikut perkembangan beliau seterusnya. Berbalik kepada metamatik tadi, tanpa merasa jenoh beliau membuat latihan metamatik sehingga beliau melahirkan anak.
Seperkara lagi yang saya perhatikan ialah pemakanan beliau, sejak awal mengandung beliau gemar sekali memakan kacang badam dan korma bersama susu, dan untuk tengah hari makan utama beliau ialah roti dan ikan tanpa kepala bersama salad yang digaul dengan badam dan berbagai jenis kekacang, menurut beliau daging ikan sungguh baik untuk perkembangan otak dan kepala ikan mengandungi kimia yang tidak baik yang dapat merosakkan pengembangan dan penumbuhan otak anak didalam kandungan. menurut beliau ini adalah adat orang orang yahudi ketika mengandung dan ianya menjadi semacam kewajipan untuk ibu ibu yang sedang mengandung mengambil pil minyak ikan.
Ketika saya diundang untuk makan malam bersama orang orang Yahudi, perkara pertama yang saya perhatikan ialah menu mereka.. Setiap undangan yg sama perhatikan ialah mereka gemar sekali memakan ikan (hanya isi atau fillet) dan biasanya daging tidak akan ada bersama dimeja jika ada ikan, menurut mereka, campuran daging dan ikan tak elok dimakan bersama. Salad dan kacang adalah suatu kemestian, terutama badam.
Seperkara yang pelik ialah mereka akan memakan buah buahan dahulu sebelum memakan hidangan utama. Jangan terperanjat jika anda diundang kerumah Yahudi anda akan dihidangkan buah buahan dahulu. Menurut mereka, dengan memakan hidangan kabohidrat (nasi atau roti) dahulu kemudian buah buahan, ini akan menyebabkan kita merasa ngantuk dan lemah dan payah untuk memahami pelajaran disekolah.
Di Israel, merokok adalah taboo, apabila anda diundang makan dirumah Yahudi, jangan sekali kali merokok, dan tanpa malu mereka akan menyuruh anda keluar dari rumah mereka dam merokok diluar rumah mereka. Menurut saintis di Universiti Israel , siasatan menunjukkan nikotin dapat merosakkan sel utama pada otak manusia dan akan melekat pada genes, ini bermakna keturunan perokok bakal membawa generasi yg cacat otak ( bodoh atau lembab). Suatu penemuan yg dahsyat ditemui oleh saintis yg mendalami bidang genes dan DNA. Para perokok harap ambil perhatian. (Ironi nya, pemilik pengeluar rokok terbesar adalah ...... tekalah sendiri..!)
Perhatian saya selanjutnya ialah melawati tadika mereka, Pemakanan anak anak tadi cukup dikawal, makanan awal ialah buah buahan bersama kacang badam, diikuti dengan menelan pil minyak ikan (code oil lever) Didalam pengamatan saya, kanak Yahudi sungguh bijak dan rata rata mereka memahami 3 bahasa iaitu Hebrew, Arab dan Inggeris dan sedari awal lagi mereka telah dilatih bermain piano dan violin, ini adalah suatu kewajipan. Menurut mereka bermain musik dan memahami nota notanya dapat meningkatkan lagi IQ kanak kanak dan sudah tentu bakal menjadikan budak itu bijak. Ini menurut saintis Yahudi, gegaran musik dapat stimulate (semacam senaman untuk otak) maka itu terdapat ramai sekali genius musik terdiri dari kaum Yahudi.
Seterusnya ke darjah 1 hingga 6, anak anak Yahudi akan diajar matematik berkonsepkan perniagaan dan pelajaran sains amatlah diberi keutamaan. Di dalam perhatian peribadi saya, perbandingan dengan anak anak di California, ianya jauh berbeza tentang IQ dan boleh saya katakan 6 tahun kebelakang!! !. Segala pelajaran akan dengan mudah di tangkap oleh anak Yahudi. Selain dari pelajaran tadi sukan juga menjadi kewajipan bagi mereka dan sukan yg diberi keutamaan ialah memanah, menembak dan berlari, menurut teman saya ini, memanah dan menembak dapat melatih otak mem fokus sesuatu perkara disamping mempermudahkan persiapan untuk perhidmatan negara.
Selanjutnya pemerhatian saya menuju ke sekolah tinggi (menengah) di sini murid-murid ditekan dengan pelajaran sains dan mereka digalakkan mencipta produk. Segala projek mereka walaupon kadangkala kelihatannya lucu dan mengarut, tetap diteliti dengan serius apatah lagi ianya berupa senjata, perubatan dan engineering, idea itu akan dibawa ke institute tinggi di Politeknik dan Universiti.
Satu lagi yang diberi keutamaan ialah fakulti perniagaan. Saya sungguh terperanjat melihat mereka begitu agresif dan seriusnya mereka tentang perniagaan. Di akhir tahun di universiti, para penuntut dibidang niaga dikehendaki melakukan projek dan mempraktikkannya dan anda hanya akan lulus jika kumpulan anda (10 pelajar setiap kumpulan) dapat keuntungan sebanyak $US1juta! Anda terperanjat? Itulah kenyataan, dengan rangkaian seluruh dunia dan ditaja sepenuhnya oleh syarikat milik Yahudi, maka tidak hairanlah mereka dapat menguasai ½ perniagaan didunia! Siapakah yg mencipta design Levis yg terkini? Ianya dicipta di Universiti Israel oleh fakulti bisnes dan fesyen.
Pernahkah anda melihat cara orang Yahudi melakukan ibadah mereka? Salah satu caranya ialah dengan menggoyangkan kepala mereka, menurut mereka ini dapat mengaktifkan otak mereka dan menambahkan oksijan dikepala, banyak ugama lain di Timur Tengah, seperti Islam juga ada menyuruh umatnya menunduk atau menggoyangkan kepala, ini guna dapat mensimulasikan otak kita supaya bertambah aktif. Lihat orang orang Jepun, mereka sering menunduk-nundukkan kepala dan ianya sebagai adat. Ramai orang orang Jepun yg pandai? Adakah ianya sebagai kebetulan? Kegemaran mereka ialah sushi (ikan mentah). Adakah ini kebetulan? Fikirkanlah!
Berpusat di New York, Dewan Perniagaan Yahudi bersedia membantu mereka yg berminat untuk melakukan bisnes (sudah tentu untuk Yahudi sahaja). Jika mereka ada idea yg bernas, jawatan kuasa akan memberi pinjaman tanpa faedah dan pentadbir dari jawatan kuasa tadi akan bekerjasama dengan anda untuk memastikan yg perniagaan mereka menurut landasan yg betul. Maka itu lahirlah Starbuck, Dell, Coca cola, DKNY, Oracle, Perfileman di Hollywood, Levis, Dunkin Donut dan ada beratus kedai ternama dibawah naungan dewan perniagaan Yahudi di New York. Graduan Yahudi dari fakulti perubatan New York akan disarankan untuk mendaftar dipersatuan ini dan digalakkan memulakan klinik mereka sendiri dengan bantuan wang tanpa faedah. Barulah saya tahu mengapa hospital di New York dan California sentiasa kekurangan doktor pakar.
Kesimpulanya, pada teori saya, melahirkan anak dan keturunan yg bijak boleh dilaksanakan dan tentunya bukan semalaman, ianya memerlukan masa, beberapa generasi mungkin? Persiapan awal adalah ketika sang ibu mengandung, galakkanlah si ibu melakukan latihan matematik yg mudah tetapi konsisten di samping mendengar musik klasik (bagi umat Islam lebih baik diperdengarkan bacaan ayat suci Al-Quran - admin). Seterusnya ubahlah cara pemakanan, makanlah makanan yg elok dan berkhasiat yg baik untuk otak, menghayati musik sejak kecil adalah baik sekali untuk pertumbuhan otak kanak kanak, dengan bermain piano dan violin sudah tentu dapat melatih anak anak mencerdaskan otak mereka. Demikian juga sukan yg memerlukan kosentrasi yg tinggi, seperti memanah, bola keranjang, dart dan menembak. Merokok menjanjikan generasi yg moron (goblok) dan sudah tentu genes bodoh akan mengikut ke generasi si perokok. Lawatan saya ke Singapore pada tahun 2005 amat memeranjatkan sekali! Di sini perokok seperti di anak tirikan dan begitu susah sekali untuk perokok, dan anda tahu berapa harga sekotak rokok? US$ 7 !!! ini bersamaan perbelanjaan sehari untuk makan anda!! Saya puji sekali sikap pemerintah Singapore dan menakjubkan sekali!!! Dan seperti Israel ianya begitu taboo dan cara pentadbiran dan segi pembelajaran mereka hampir serupa dengan Israel , maka itu saya lihat banyak institusi pelajaran mereka bertaraf dunia walaupun hakikatnya negeri Singapore hanyalah sebuah pulau sebesar Manhattan !!
Anda mungkin musykil, benarkah merokok dapat melahirkan generasi goblok? Saya telah menemui beberapa bukti menyokong teori ini. Lihat saja Indonesia, jika anda ke Jakarta, di mana saja anda berada, dari restoran, teater, kebun bunga hingga ke muzium, hidung anda akan segera terbau asap rokok! Dan harga rokok? Cuma US$ .70cts !!! dan hasilnya? Dengan penduduknya berjumlah jutaan orang berapa banyakkah universiti terdapat di sana? Hasil apakah yg dapat dibanggakan? Teknologi? Jauh sekali. Adakah mereka dapat berbahasa selain dari bahasa mereka sendiri? Mengapa mereka begitu sukar sekali menguasai bahasa Inggeris? Ditangga berapakah kedudukan mereka di pertandingan matematik sedunia? Adakah ini bukan akibat merokok? Anda fikirlah sendiri.
Di tesis saya ini, saya tidak akan menimbulkan soal ugama atau bangsa, adakah Yahudi itu zalim sehingga diusir dari semenjak zaman Paraoh hingga ke Hitler, bagi saya itu isu politik dan survival, yg ingin saya ketengahkan ialah, mampukah kita dapat melahirkan generasi yg bijak seperti Yahudi? Jawapannya ialah mungkin dan tidak mustahil dan ianya memerlukan perubahan, dari segi pemakanan dan cara mendididik anak dan saya kira hanya memerlukan 3 generasi sahaja. Ini dapat saya lihat sendiri tentang cucu saya, ini setelah saya mengajar anak saya melalui program yg telah saya nyatakan di atas tadi, pada umur 9 tahun (cucu saya) dia dapat menulis esei sepanjang 5 mukasurat penuh. Eseinya hanyalah mengenai 'Mengapa saya gemarkan tomato! ' Selamat sejahtera dan semuga kita dapat melahirkan manusia yg bijak dan bersifat mulia untuk kebaikan manusia sejagat tanpa mengenal batasan bangsa.

Merokok menjanjikan generasi yg moron (goblok) dan sudah tentu genes bodoh akan mengikut ke generasi si perokok. Lawatan saya ke Singapore pada tahun 2005 amat memeranjatkan sekali! Di sini perokok seperti di anak tirikan dan begitu susah sekali untuk perokok, dan anda tahu berapa harga sekotak rokok? US$ 7 !!! ini bersamaan perbelanjaan sehari untuk makan anda!! Saya puji sekali sikap pemerintah Singapore dan menakjubkan sekali!!! Dan seperti Israel ianya begitu taboo dan cara pentadbiran dan segi pembelajaran mereka hampir serupa dengan Israel , maka itu saya lihat banyak institusi pelajaran mereka bertaraf dunia walaupun hakikatnya negeri Singapore hanyalah sebuah pulau sebesar Manhattan !!
Anda mungkin musykil, benarkah merokok dapat melahirkan generasi goblok? Saya telah menemui beberapa bukti menyokong teori ini. Lihat saja Indonesia, jika anda ke Jakarta, di mana saja anda berada, dari restoran, teater, kebun bunga hingga ke muzium, hidung anda akan segera terbau asap rokok! Dan harga rokok? Cuma US$ .70cts !!! dan hasilnya? Dengan penduduknya berjumlah jutaan orang berapa banyakkah universiti terdapat di sana? Hasil apakah yg dapat dibanggakan? Teknologi? Jauh sekali. Adakah mereka dapat berbahasa selain dari bahasa mereka sendiri? Mengapa mereka begitu sukar sekali menguasai bahasa Inggeris? Ditangga berapakah kedudukan mereka di pertandingan matematik sedunia? Adakah ini bukan akibat merokok? Anda fikirlah sendiri.
Di tesis saya ini, saya tidak akan menimbulkan soal ugama atau bangsa, adakah Yahudi itu zalim sehingga diusir dari semenjak zaman Paraoh hingga ke Hitler, bagi saya itu isu politik dan survival, yg ingin saya ketengahkan ialah, mampukah kita dapat melahirkan generasi yg bijak seperti Yahudi? Jawapannya ialah mungkin dan tidak mustahil dan ianya memerlukan perubahan, dari segi pemakanan dan cara mendididik anak dan saya kira hanya memerlukan 3 generasi sahaja. Ini dapat saya lihat sendiri tentang cucu saya, ini setelah saya mengajar anak saya melalui program yg telah saya nyatakan di atas tadi, pada umur 9 tahun (cucu saya) dia dapat menulis esei sepanjang 5 mukasurat penuh. Eseinya hanyalah mengenai 'Mengapa saya gemarkan tomato! ' Selamat sejahtera dan semuga kita dapat melahirkan manusia yg bijak dan bersifat mulia untuk kebaikan manusia sejagat tanpa mengenal batasan bangsa.

'Allah', Malay Supremacy & Islam Misunderstood
The protest against a controversial ruling allowing Catholic weekly Herald to use “Allah” in its national language section reflects an inferiority complex of the Malay Muslim community in Malaysia. However, the community is not to be blamed.
There is a need to look deeper into the protest to find out why some Malay Muslims, including educated urban professionals, are reacting antagonistically against the sharing of the use of ‘Allah’ with those of the Christian Catholic faith.
Ironically, the Malay language had borrowed the word ‘Allah’ from the Arabic language. It is used by Arabic speakers of the Abrahamic faiths, including Christians, as a reference to God. There were historical claims that the Christian community in East Malaysia had used the reference long before the formation of Malaysia.
Although local publication of Malay language bibles were not encouraged in the country and most were taken in from Indonesia, there was never such a big reaction against the use of ‘Allah’ until recently when the government refused to renew the publishing permit of a Catholic newsletter.
Instead of joining the blame game, it is pertinent for us to seek to understand what triggered the protest. The prime reason is the decades of intertwining between religion, race and politics.
The arson attacks on churches and a few demonstrations around the country reflected an eerie similarity to other political protests and demonstrations warning against questioning the Malay supremacy. Here, the protesters have warned against challenging their religious supremacy and exclusivity.
Is there a zero sum game in the use of ‘Allah’ between Muslims and Christians?
Why are Muslim Arabs able to accept and share the use of ‘Allah’ with those of other Abrahamic faiths but not some Muslim Malaysians?
The main cause which has triggered the protest is the race affirmative policy practised by the current government. It is unfortunate that the Malay supremacy concept propagated and implemented by the ruling regime is also trying to make Islam and the use of ‘Allah’ an exclusive domain.
For the protesters, Islam is synonymous to Malay supremacy. It has to be exclusive and above the rest. This perception is both misguided and un-Islamic. Islam is universal and inclusive. It is compassionate and not hostile.
The current political culture practiced by the ruling regime has proven many times to be both divisive and regressive. Malaysia’s nation building under the Barisan government is just mere rhetoric and a lip service. Consequently, it is so easy to trigger an emotional and hostile reaction to something so basic and menial.
Another prime reason for the protest is the inferiority complex of some Muslim Malays. The lack of confidence in their own Islamic faith is reflected in the argument that the use of ‘Allah’ by Christians in East Malaysia may generate confusion amongst Muslims and spark unnecessary apostasy.
Muslims who are well-versed in their Islamic faith can distinguish between a bible and a Quran. They are wise enough to differentiate and respect the use of ‘Allah’ by followers of other Abrahamic faiths. It is equally baffling to suggest that the use of ‘Allah’ may encourage apostasy or weaken their Islamic faith.
Christians and Muslims in this country should have rejoiced for calling God by the same name. Both religions accept the concept of an all encompassing God.
It is obvious that a court ruling on the ban of the use of ‘Allah’ in Malay language Christian publications will not appease everybody. This problem can only be resolved using a socio-political method.
Hence, the right remedy to address this issue in the long term is to end racial politics. It is unfortunate that a serious national debate on how to end racial politics has failed to materialize even after experiencing some negative repercussions of it.
Malaysians must come together to end this ethno-religious political hegemony and work on a more inclusive and civilised politics. Until and unless, we can improve interethnic and interreligious understanding in the country Malaysia may suffer serious and irreversible destruction to its social fabric and its international standing as a successful multiracial and harmonious nation.
Politically, the hapless Barisan coalition should take a proactive step to disband all race-based parties and form a common political platform which truly represents all Malaysians. There is no reason to hold on to its current post-colonial race-based political model which is outdated and outmoded except to satisfy self gratification of some leaders who wanted to become race champions.
The proponents of race supremacy are the most misguided and unproductive lot in the country. In the knowledge world, those who want to use hereditary as a differentiation advantage can only be regarded as parasites in their society.
Hence, it is time to call an end to the politically constructed social contract which has created brick walls between communities in the country. The reminder to non-bumiputras to be grateful for being granted citizenship and a right to live in this country is an insult to nation building. Such a post-colonial thinking must not be allowed to dictate our interethnic relations and nation building agenda. The only way to end this archaic and destructive socio-political model is to reject racial politics.
It is timely to establish an interreligious dialogue to help promote mutual understanding amongst different faiths. A small misunderstanding such as the use of ‘Allah’ can be discussed and resolved through a dialogue.
Previous attempts to hold such gatherings had faced hostile reactions and protests from the same culprits who protested against the court decision to reverse the ban on the use of ‘Allah’ by Christians.
Similarly, they had wanted to promote Islamic supremacy over other religions. This is not only detrimental to religious harmony in the country but also to the reputation and sanctity of Islam.
Malaysians must stand up against these protesters. It is only when the silent majority speak up or we will not be able to protect our rights from a small band of aggressive self-centric protesters.
We cannot depend on the current regime to defend our constitutional rights or multiracial harmony. Malaysians regardless of faiths must stand up to demand this country being run the way it should be – a harmonious, just and prosperous multiracial country.

The reminder to non-bumiputras to be grateful for being granted citizenship and a right to live in this country is an insult to nation building. Such a post-colonial thinking must not be allowed to dictate our interethnic relations and nation building agenda. The only way to end this archaic and destructive socio-political model is to reject racial politics.
It is timely to establish an interreligious dialogue to help promote mutual understanding amongst different faiths. A small misunderstanding such as the use of ‘Allah’ can be discussed and resolved through a dialogue.
Previous attempts to hold such gatherings had faced hostile reactions and protests from the same culprits who protested against the court decision to reverse the ban on the use of ‘Allah’ by Christians.
Similarly, they had wanted to promote Islamic supremacy over other religions. This is not only detrimental to religious harmony in the country but also to the reputation and sanctity of Islam.
Malaysians must stand up against these protesters. It is only when the silent majority speak up or we will not be able to protect our rights from a small band of aggressive self-centric protesters.
We cannot depend on the current regime to defend our constitutional rights or multiracial harmony. Malaysians regardless of faiths must stand up to demand this country being run the way it should be – a harmonious, just and prosperous multiracial country.

The document is not a modern human rights treaty but even thought it was penned in 628 A.D. it clearly protects the right to property, freedom of religion, freedom of work, and security of the person, says Muqtedar Khan.
Muslims and Christians together constitute over fifty percent of the world and if they lived in peace, we will be half way to world peace. One small step that we can take towards fostering Muslim-Christian harmony is to tell and retell positive stories and abstain from mutual demonization.
In this article I propose to remind both Muslims and Christians about a promise that Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) made to Christians. The knowledge of this promise can have enormous impact on Muslim conduct towards Christians. Muslims generally respect the precedent of their Prophet and try to practice it in their lives.
In 628 AD, a delegation from St. Catherine’s Monastery came to Prophet Muhammed and requested his protection. He responded by granting them a charter of rights, which I reproduce below in its entirety. St. Catherine’s Monastery is located at the foot of Mt. Sinai and is the world’s oldest monastery. It possesses a huge collection of Christian manuscripts, second only to the Vatican, and is a world heritage site. It also boasts the oldest collection of Christian icons. It is a treasure house of Christian history that has remained safe for 1400 years under Muslim protection.
The Promise to St. Catherine:
"This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by God! I hold out against anything that displeases them.
No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses.
Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.
No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants.
No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."
The first and the final sentence of the charter are critical. They make the promise eternal and universal. Muhammed asserts that Muslims are with Christians near and far straight away rejecting any future attempts to limit the promise to St. Catherine alone. By ordering Muslims to obey it until the Day of Judgment the charter again undermines any future attempts to revoke the privileges. These rights are inalienable. Muhammed declared Christians, all of them, as his allies and he equated ill treatment of Christians with violating God’s covenant.
A remarkable aspect of the charter is that it imposes no conditions on Christians for enjoying its privileges. It is enough that they are Christians. They are not required to alter their beliefs, they do not have to make any payments and they do not have any obligations. This is a charter of rights without any duties!

I know most readers, must be thinking so what? Well the answer is simple. Those who seek to foster discord among Muslims and Christians focus on issues that divide and emphasize areas of conflict. But when resources such as Muhammad’s promise to Christians are invoked and highlighted it builds bridges. It inspires Muslims to rise above communal intolerance and engenders good will in Christians who might be nursing fear of Islam or Muslims.
When I look at Islamic sources, I find in them unprecedented examples of religious tolerance and inclusiveness. They make me want to become a better person. I think the capacity to seek good and do good inheres in all of us. When we subdue this predisposition towards the good, we deny our fundamental humanity. In this holiday season, I hope all of us can find time to look for something positive and worthy of appreciation in the values, cultures and histories of other peoples.

Now, when that delegation from St Catherine's monastery came to meet with Prophet Mohamad (pbuh), I suppose it's fair to assume that they spoke Arabic to one another. And when they were conversing, surely the word 'God' must have come up. As in "May God Be With You" and such like. What word did the Prophet (pbuh) use for 'God' I wonder? And what did the St Catherinians use in return? For monotheists like them, was there a 'your God' and 'my God' type of situation, or did they understand that they were both talking about the same One?
While some idiots are mourning over the 'loss' of the word 'Allah' and therefore basically telling the world that they are people easily confused by nomenclature, and others are predicting riots over what is basically a 'copyright' issue, let me define what I think a confident Muslim should be:
1. A confident Muslim is unfazed by the issue of God's name. God speaks to all of humankind in the Quran and never said that only Muslims could call him by the name Allah.
2. A confident Muslim has 99 names to choose from to describe that One God. My favourites are Ar-Rahman (The All-Compassionate) and Ar-Rahim (The All-Merciful).
3. A confident Muslim never gets confused over which is his/her religion and which is other people's. For instance, a confident Muslim knows exactly what the first chapter of the Quran is. And it's not the Lord's Prayer.
4. A confident Muslim will not walk into a church, hear a liturgy in Malay or Arabic where they use the word 'Allah' and then think that he or she is in a mosque. A confident Muslim knows the difference.
5. A confident Muslim is generous, inclusive and doesn't think that his or her brethren is made exclusive through the use of a single language. The confident Muslim is well aware that in the Middle East, all services of ANY religion are in Arabic because that's what they all speak.
6. A confident Muslim knows the basis of his/her faith are the five pillars of Islam and will not be shaken just because other people call God by the same name.
7. A Muslim believes in only One God. Therefore it makes sense that other people should call God by the same name because there is no other God.
ART THOU NOT aware that it is God whose limit¬less glory all [creatures] that are in the heavens and on earth extol, even the birds as they spread out their wings? Each [of them] knows indeed how to pray unto Him and to glorify Him; and God has full knowledge of all that they do:(Surah Nour, Verse 41) (Asad)
So I would ask those people demonstrating against the Court decision, have you no pride? Are you saying you're easily confused?
And before anyone says I have no qualifications to say these things, read what Dr Asri Zainal Abidin (who does have qualifications no matter what JAIS says) has written about this very subject here.
And here's something interesting. In 2007, the Majlis Agama Negeri Perlis, which is a large majlis filled with people very learned in Islamic religious knowledge, discussed the question of the use of 'Allah' by non-Muslims. Their unanimous decision? They issued a fatwa to say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with non-Muslims using the word at all.(This was told to me by Dr. Asri but I cannot find the fatwa anywhere online because all the religious departments' websites are so useless.)
Are we now going to excommunicate the whole of Perlis?

Penggunaan nama Allah oleh kristian tak akan berjaya walau bila2 di Malaysia, dalam rayuan nanti puak kristian juga akan kecundang...namaun apa sebenarnya di sebalik isu ni...dgr apa org penting UMNo bagi tau kat member2 dia..
1- Arah hakim bukan Islam buat keputuan memihak kepada kristian, kalau hakim islam nanti akan jadi isu besar dan maut hakim tu nanti...
2-Maka org2 terpilih akan berkokok..ikut keperluan untuk bersihkan imej, dah disusun dgn rapi...Pemuda UMNO, Mahathir, Rais Yatim dll..
3- Ini akan membuatkan rakyat terasa UMNO benar2 bela Islam...
4- Kaitkan Mahkamah Syariah, Raja-Raja Melayu...ini akan menunjukkan pembelaan UMNO kepada mahkamah syariah dan tanggungjawab kepada raja2 Melatyu..( sebenarnya mrk lah yag hancurkan kedua2 institusi ini)
5-Kutip pendapat Pakatan dalam hal ini..terutama dari pemimpin Islam PR yang kurang sedar isu ini untuk menyebelahi Kristian...dari situ PR akan dituduh belot terhadap Islam( pemimpin PR kena hati2 la)
6- Desakan bagai nak rak dibuat tunjuk pembelaan untuk Islam dan Allah.
7-Arah mahkamah rayuan batalkan keputusan mahkamah tinggi..
8- diharapkan kepercayaan terhadap UMNO do siduut islam akan kembali...
9 Akhirnya kebenaran menggunakan nam Allah ini ditarik balik oleh mahkamah Rayuan..maka UMNO pun diangkat sebagai wira agama dan bangsa sambil menutup keaiban2 mereka selama ini....Then tak lama lepas itu, jangkaannya isu keheroan UMNO ni masih panas, tarikh PRU 13 pon diumumkan...
Itu lah sebenarnya yg tersirat di belakang konsep 1 Malaysia, pendekatan yg biasa: melalui kempen2, kata2 mengampu, ucap salam 1 Malaysia, pidato pemimpin , BTN dan terkini ,, buat sandiwara + mahkamah + raja Melayu + demostrasi sandiwara,,, memang ko ameno kaki pembelit sedunia rakyat Malaysia jgn tertipu
Isu ini samalah seperti UMNO menaikkan harga barang then UMNO perjuangkan agar harga itu turun kembali ...dan rakyat nampak UMNO perjuang nasib rakyat..walhal ..harga barang tu mmg tetap mcm tu...nama ALlah mmg tidak akan diredai oleh semua masyarakat Islam kalau berlaku juga Muslimin tak akan berdiam diri...UMNO tahu itu semua...tapi UMNO ingin jadi jaguh dalam isu ini...
